Growing out of the Beads, Bites & Banter get-togethers (which had to be postponed), the Indigenous Languages Club and First Nations House have worked to move the beading events online.
Starting Tuesday, March 31st, from 6:30-9:30pm, we will be hosting an open online beading circle that will allow us to gather remotely, connect with each other, learn/practice our expression skills with beads, and to engage with language teachings!
If you would like to join, please send an e-mail to Danii at danielle.desmarais@mail.utoronto.ca, and indicate whether or not you require supplies (beads, beading needles, thread, and a beading loom). We will do our best to have supplies delivered to those requiring them, but please note that delivery may not be available in all areas.
Since we have a limited number of bead looms and because it will take time for supplies to be delivered, our first meeting will be all about how to make a bead loom from things around your house.
Can't make it on Tuesday's but still interested in learning how to bead? All of our instructional videos will be posted after each meeting and we will frequently be sharing some tips and tricks!
